I had a busy busy weekend. Somehow I managed to run the final weekend of Korbel IV, load in and run the cabaret (directly following Korbel Saturday night), see the Mime Troupe in SF on the 4th, get really drunk at work/the Logger and make a little bit of a fool of myself, strike the cabaret, take a walk around Blue Lake with a lovely tour guide, spend another much less drunken and more chill late night at the Logger, watch fireworks, and a several other neat things.
Life is good, friends. I'm feeling a little under the weather today. What I thought was hangover on Sunday (oh, saturday was so drunk for so many people) has shown itself to be some sort of stomach bug this morning.
I had a fantastic whirlwind 22 (or so) hours in San Francisco. Went to the Mime Troupe's opening day in Dolores Park. The show is really great this year, I think. Had a beer with Liza-Delicious while the Troupers were packing up. I had forgotten how much I adore her, and how good her advice and insight always are. Then had an enjoyable evening at the Troupe, had a burrito, hung out with Victor and Leah's wee new baby, watched some fireworks from the roof, and generally remembered that I do like San Francisco and have some good friendies there.
Saturday night I went to the Logger after the cabaret (as did all other Dell Arte peeps), already pretty saucy (as were all the other Dell Arte peeps). I was sitting at the bar, having shed my shoes, with my phone, wallet, and keys sitting on the bar in plain sight. Got a phone call from Lezley, the house manager, that I needed to come back to the theater for a minute. I got up from my spot, walked across the street to the theater (still with the bare feet), fixed what needed fixing, walked back across the street. Spent some time outside the bar with Greg (my lovely sound engineer), and then returned to my spot at the bar. Phone, keys, wallet and half full beer still sitting on the bar awaiting my return. I very drunkenly drifted from group to group around the bar, meeting the few strangers (workshop students), partially undressing someone I just met, and generally enjoying the small town high-jinks. See, the thing I can't get over is that I didn't even think twice about leaving my wallet, phone and keys sitting on the bar in plain sight unattended, or about walking across the street back to the theater without putting my shoes on.
Now we have the conundrum. I've been thinking in vague terms for about a month that I would like to move up here, if I could get a job at Dell Arte (the only way I could afford to live up here and still do theater). Last night it was presented to me as an actual possibility. If I hadn't have visited San Francisco on Friday, I would probably be marching right up to Michael today and talking about a full time position. But, I had a great day, and I love the work I'm doing in the city, and I do have fantastic friends. I'm torn. I do love it up here, but Dell Arte has some serious problems, and I am not being taken at all seriously as the technical director. However, this little town feels more like home than I've felt in quite some time. Anyway. Thinking time. Comments/suggestions/further discussion welcome, in fact, needed.

I suggest giving me ice cream. This is a traditional way of bringing good luck to Mollies everywhere.
I suggest complimenting me more :) Nah- really though- I think you should do what feels best. San Francisco is always here for you, but I've never seen you so happy as when you were talking about Blue Lake.
